About the program

Apparel Manufacturing Technology Program was established in the 2022-2023 academic year as one of the new programs in the Department of Clothing and Textiles at the Faculty of Home Economics, Helwan University.

The program includes several practical and theoretical courses to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to learn various aspects of apparel manufacturing technology related to local and regional industries. Students are trained in several modern skills in design and production, using a contemporary approach that keeps pace with labor market requirements. The goal is to produce graduates capable of performing these skills independently using various computer programs.

Program message

Developing and qualifying human resources to work in the clothing industry according to labor market requirements, and developing scientific, technical, and cultural mental capabilities, and refining them with experience and skills.

Objectives of the Bachelor of Apparel manufacturing Technology Program

The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to plan and establish ready-made garment production projects, as well as the technical implementation skills required for the preparation stages of production, administrative, marketing, and technical operations necessary to achieve professional alignment in the garment industry and encourage production at the local and regional levels.

It also aims to prepare graduates capable of working in the garment industry and related fields using the latest available technologies and high quality. This program equips them with the practical skills to contribute to driving production through the use of various computer programs in the garment industry, thus raising the level of graduate technical education.

Registration conditions

Admission Requirements for Apparel Manufacturing Technology Program

  • Applicants applying to the program must be nominated by the Coordination Office for admission to the college.
  • Egyptian or international students are accepted, provided they hold a high school diploma in the science or mathematics stream, or an equivalent qualification, as assigned by the Coordination Office or transferred by the International Students Department from other colleges, with an acceptance rate of no less than 85% for equivalent certificates.
  • Applicants must pass the aptitude test as a prerequisite for admission.
  • Egyptian or international students are accepted, provided they hold a high school diploma in the science or mathematics stream, with a minimum English language score of 37 out of 50.
  • The student must submit a written legal undertaking stating that they will adhere to all the conditions set forth in this program and pay all required tuition fees.
